Every year towards the end of December the AA invites staff, students and friends to a big party. In 2016 Space Popular's Lara Lesmes and Fredrik Hellberg were asked to design the event together with their students in Intermediate One.

The string of oddly shaped Georgian buildings which is the home of the AA become the protagonists and went trough a polychromatic makeover in the fashion of Egyptian space age a la "Sun Ra" before being printed on over 100 meters of thick cotton. The fabrics where then attached to round supports in the ceiling of the grand lecture hall in resulting in the effect of a hypostyle hall, full of places to hide and seek.

The cotton fabrics are now held by the AA archives at Bedford Square.
